Dear fans of the German National Team,
I have just asked me the head coach in future with the nomination for the national team not to be taken into account, as I would like to resign.
My thanks to the fans, the team, the dfb, the coaches and team for the German National Team.
In 120 test matches, I was allowed to give for my country and moments, the beautiful beyond description and were successful.
Jogi Löw knew how much me the euro 2016 in France means, because I wanted to win this title, the essential since 1996, we no longer could get to Germany.
It was not meant to be, and I have to accept it.
With The profit of the weltmeistertitels 2014 is us historically and also emotionally, something has been achieved in my career can’t repeat.
This is why it is right and sensible now and to break up the team for the qualification and the world cup 2018 the very best to wish.
With the resignation I’m leaving the team, which I always was a precious family. I hope that the connection is still in one form or another.
Our fans in the end, I would like to say: ” it was an honor for you to be allowed to play, thank you for everything that I was able to experience with you!”
